A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ANDERSON, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MAIN STREET FOR THE ANNUAL ANDERSON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT (AVFD) PARADE ON NOVEMBER 30, 2025.
WHEREAS, the Town of Anderson desires to provide safe and family-friendly community activities that promote civic engagement and enjoyment for residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the annual AVFD Parade has become a valued tradition in the Town, bringing together families, churches, organizations, and businesses for seasonal fellowship and recreation; and
WHEREAS, to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers, and the general public, it is necessary to temporarily close a portion of Main Street in downtown Anderson during the event;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ANDERSON, TEXAS:
- That the Town Council hereby approves the temporary closure of Main Street, from Buffington to FM1774, on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., for the purpose of conducting the annual AVFD Parade event.
- That the Mayor, Town Clerk, and appropriate staff are authorized to coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and event organizers to ensure proper traffic control, public safety, and communication regarding the street closure.
- That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
