BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this the 11th day of May 2023, at 7:00 p.m., there was begun and holden a Public Hearing followed by Regular Meeting of the Town of Anderson, Grimes County, Texas.
Public Hearing
1. Call to order at 7:00 PM
2. Roll call – Bessie White, Daryl Alford, Harold Minor, Karen McDuffie, Marc Benton, and Pam Johnson were present. Kason Menges was absent.
Visitors present were Kelli Odom, Ashton Crow, Carnell Carrell, Tanner Krause, Michael Kimich, Samantha Kimich, and Mary Beth Wesley.

4. Conduct a public hearing and obtain comments regarding the additional reallocation funds for Harvey CDBG-DR Program Contract No. 20-065-116-C377. Citizen participation is invited.
Kelli Odom represented GrantWorks for this hearing and gave brief overview of the project.

Regular Meeting

• Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. Flag
• Pledge of Allegiance to the Texas Flag: “Honor the Texas Flag. I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible.”
2. Public Comments: None
3. Consider and take action to approve the minutes of the meeting on 4/20/23.
Motion by Marc Benton to accept the minutes, seconded by Daryl Alford, all approved, motion carried.
4. Consider and take action to approve the list of claims and bills.
Motion by Daryl Alford to pay bills, seconded by Bessie White, all approved, motion carried.
5. Consider and take action to authorize the Mayor to submit an Amendment to the Texas General Land Office for modifications to its Texas CDBG-DR Harvey Contract (#20-065-116-C377) to include the Harvey Reallocation Funds, including executing all necessary documents required for the amendment. This motion will need to include streets that are to be added to the amendment.
Motion by Daryl Alford to authorize Mayor to submit amendment to include Buffington Ave, seconded by Harold Minor, all approved, motion carried.

6. Consider and take action on participation in the Freedom Picnic on 7/1/23.
Mary Beth Wesley asked the Council for participation in the 2023 Freedom Picnic.
Motion by Kason Menges to purchase items and participate in this year’s picnic up to $500, seconded by Daryl Alford, all approved, motion carried.
7. Consider and take action to have GrantWorks pursue Texas Parks & Wildlife grant for park.
Motion by Marc Benton to pass on this year’s park grant, seconded by Daryl Alford, all approved, motion carried.
8. Consider and take action to set date for Budget Workshop.
Motion by Daryl Alford to set date as 6/13/23, seconded by Harold Minor, all approved, motion carried.
9. Town Clean Up Day Report
Container showed up late, lots of volunteers, need to get grabbers for next year.
