BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this the 11th day of January 2024, at 7:00 p.m., there was begun and holden a Regular Meeting of the Town of Anderson, Grimes County, Texas.
- Call meeting to order and establish quorum at 7:00 PM. Members present were Daryl Alford, Pam Johnson, Marc Benton, Harold Minor, and Tanner Krause. Kason Menges and Bessie White were absent. Visitors present were Sherri Benton, Matt Cecil, David Tullos, Tanya Tullos, Brian Colbert, Megan Moody Barcak, and Michael Kimich.
- Invocation – Invocation to be provided by Rev. Matt Cecil from First United Methodist Church Anderson.
- Pledges to the flags. “Honor the Texas Flag. I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible.”

- Happy New Year – welcome back to 2024
- Town Clerk opening – Pam Johnson has tendered her resignation, job has been posted, 12 applications have been received and interviews have been conducted
- Upcoming election and key dates – 3/5 is the primary, 5/4 is city/school election, office will be open 8-5 on 2/16

- Hill Street repairs – New road & bridge administrator has stepped up and fixing Hill St at no extra cost for us
- FY21 Audit Status – Still waiting on final update
- Depository contract – ad went out in the paper yesterday
- Weather advisory – Entergy trimmed lines in town last week, hopefully that will cut back on limbs on line
- Consent Agenda. All consent items are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion and vote.

- David Tullos, Grimes County Commissioner Precinct 2 – Update on Grimes County activities. (15 minutes)
Gave update on current issues in the county. Increased funding in the Sheriff’s Department, new ordinances in place, buildings in the Town are for sale. What issues are the Town concerned with?

- Permit report – 2 vendor permits, 1 commercial building permit & 1 electrical permit
- Sewer Report – annual clean out of lift stations last month, annual generator maintenance this past week, everything else going pretty good

- 2017 Harvey Grant – no updates
- ARPA Grant – need to obligated by 12/31/2024
- 2023-2024 CDBG – scheduling call to fill out all the financial forms
- CDBG MIT-MOD – no updates
- Harvey Reallocation Funds – no updates
- RCP – finally have access to quickbase
- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) – culverts on the northside of 90, survey has been completed, will be changes forthcoming, restriping, no lane closures, widening FM 149 E to FM 2562, extensive survey on Main Street is in the works to work on turning over to Town
- Business: Discuss, consider, and possibly take action regarding:
- Review 2024 Anderson Event calendar and possible action to approve individual events.
Motion to approve Town events by Daryl Alford to approve Town events with tentative dates, seconded by Bessie White, all approved, motion carried.
- Review and take action to approve the Joint Election Agreement between the Town of Anderson and the Grimes County Election Administrator.
Motion to approve agreement by Daryl Alford, seconded by Tanner Krause, all approved, motion carried.
- Consider and take action to approve work on facility bathrooms based on the last quote received.
Motion to postpone until next month to see if we can get more bids by Daryl Alford, seconded by Harold Minor, all approved, motion carried.

Motion by Daryl Alford to approve the agreed upon candidate at $15 an hour dependent on background and start date, seconded by Tanner Krause. All approved, motion carried.
