The Board of Aldermen of the Town of Anderson met in regular open session in the American Legion Building in Anderson, Texas, at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010. Present were Mayor Gail Sowell, Mayor Pro-Tem Erna Freeman, Aldermen Joe Boudreaux, Tom Johanson, Daryl Alford, Alderwoman Carol DeBose, and City Attorney John DeMille…
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Guests present at the meeting included Cindy Bell, Chester Finke, Paul Collins, Rickey Wehmeyer and Kim Falcon.
Paul Collins, representing the Brazos Valley Affordable Housing Corporation, was here to discuss renewing the inter-local agreement with the city, and to provide up to date information regarding the program. Motion was made by Alderwoman Freeman to approve Resolution 49-10 and the inter-local agreement. Alderman Alford seconded the motion, all members present voted in favor of the motion.
Motion by Alderwoman Freeman to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2010 meeting, as presented, was seconded by Alderman Boudreaux and all members present voted in favor of the motion.
Mayor Sowell asked Council members to consider and approve payment of invoices currently due and payable. All invoices listed were approved with one exception. Mayor Sowell said she would send letters to the Hahn Equipment Co. asking for a detailed listing of work done by this company on lift station repairs. Rickey Wehmeyer said he would also call the company about this. Alderwoman Freeman made a motion to pay all invoices due, excluding Hahn Co. until we have received their itemized statement for work done—excluding work to the new 1774 lift station which shall be paid by the Anderson-Shiro CISD. Alderman Alford seconded the motion; all members present voted in favor of the motion.
Mayor Sowell and Alderwoman Freeman presented and discussed an updated map of the city’s boundaries as discussed with the 911 addressing personnel. The map is real close to correct with a few tiny corrections still needed.
