Members Present: Gail Sowell, Mayor; Alderwomen: Erna Freeman, Karen McDuffie, Carol DeBose
Members Absent: E. Tom Johanson, Joe Boudreaux
Called to order at 7:00 pm
Anderson Attorney Absent: Michael R. Casaretto
Visitors Present: Cindy Bell, Chester Finke
There was a quorum thus a public open meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Gail Sowell.
Remarks of visitors:
Cindy Bell-discussed the Historic Anderson Park Bench Dedication set for Saturday October 10, 2015
Karrie Cooper-asked what the Town of Anderson could do about the wild dogs and other animals on FM 1774
Amy Keally-asked what the Town of Anderson could do about the wild dogs in the Carols area.
The board of aldermen asked that both go to the public meeting at the Baptist Church where county issues were being heard.
Minutes of previous meeting and Hearings held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 were read by each board member present. A motion was made by Erna Freeman to approve the minutes as written. The motion was seconded by Carol DeBose. All approved, motion carried.
Tom Johanson moved and Carol DeBose second to nominate Tommy Szymczak, Bill Boehm, Richard “Dick” Bonds, Marilyn Bettis, and Don Lemon to the Board of Directors of the Grimes County Appraisal District.
Tom Johanson moved to enter into an agreement with Gr. Co. Appraisal District for tax assessment/collection for the year 2016. Carol DeBose seconded the motion. All present approve.
Erna Freeman made a motion to pay bills currently due as presented. Tom Johanson seconded the motion. All approved, motion carried.
Agenda item 7 and 8 were tabled until the November meeting.
Mayor Sowell told the board that the streets were mowed the first of the week.
Open session adjourned: 7:31 P.M.
No closed session.
