Members Present: Karen McDuffie, Mayor; Daryl Alford, Mayor Pro-Tem; Alderman Harold Minor; Alderman Carnell Carrell; Alderman Bessie White; Alderman Kason Menges
Anderson Attorney: Not present
Visitors Present: Cindy Bell, Rocky Weller, Joe Boudreaux, Pat Sechelski, Tony Pavlock, Will Borski, Charles Borski, Jenna Blinn, M Belinowski, Kyle Childress
Establish a quorum; Called to order at 7:00 pm.

Kyle Childress gave invocation.
Remarks of visitors:
Cindy Bell: Trailer without a roof on south end of the Schroeder property. Johnny with Chamber requests to be put on the agenda for next month to give update on Chamber activities and plans.
Joe Boudreaux: Asked about the posting of Town Clerk on the website. What is range on wages and hours of the position?
Will Borski: Suggested considering an aerial fireworks ordinance.

Mayor McDuffie asked the council to review and approve of the minutes. Daryl Alford motioned to approve minutes, Carnell Carrell seconded the motion. All others approved; the motion carried.
Mayor McDuffie asked the council to review and approve the payment of invoices. Daryl Alford motioned to approve the payments. Harold Minor seconded the motion. All others approved: the motion carried.
Victor Edmon with Entergy discussed recent power outages. Lightening, snake on the pole and human error were the reasons for them.
Michael Kimich, Anderson Volunteer Fire Department discussed guidelines for burning that will be forthcoming.
Mayor McDuffie asked the council to discuss and approve contingency plan for after storm clean-ups. Suggestions were a big dumpster or using the 15 acres of land that the city has.
Mayor McDuffie asked the council to discuss and approve revisions of permit fees. Motion made by Darryl Alford to make the changes to fees as listed below, Bessie White seconded the motion. All others approved; motion carried.
- New/remodel commercial – $75
- New/remodel residential over 250 square feet $50
- Modular/manufactured home move in $50
- Demolition – Free (still needs permit)
- Residential Rental Registration – Free
- Vendor Registration – Free
- Electrical Permit – $25
- Plumbing Permit – $25
- New/Change of occupancy – Free
Mayor McDuffie asked the council to discuss the Brotherhood Ride in August. Bicycle ride to be held on 8/17/19, approximately 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. This is to honor fallen fire/police/EMS personnel.
Mayor McDuffie asked the council to discuss/consider/approve bids for abatement on 414 Houston Street property. Darryl Alford made motion to postpone until the next meeting, Carnell Carrell seconded the motion. All others approved; motion carried.
Mayor McDuffie announced the opening for the position of Town Clerk.
Daryl Alford motioned to adjourn the meeting. Carnell Carrell seconded the motion. All others approved; the motion carried.
