THE STATE OF TEXAS – TOWN OF ANDERSON – BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this the 9th day of December 2021, at 7:00 p.m., there was begun and holden a Special Meeting of the Town of Anderson, Grimes County, Texas.
1. Call to order: 7:00 p.m.
a. Roll call: Kason Menges, Daryl Alford, Carnell Carrell, Harold Minor, and Pam Johnson were present. Karen McDuffie and Bessie White was absent. Visitor present was Michael Kimich.
b. Quorum established.
c. Invocation was given by Kason Menges
d. Pledge to the US Flag
e. Pledge to the Texas Flag
2. Public Comment – None
3. Consider and take action to approve the minutes of meeting on 11/11/21.
Carnell Carrell made motion to approve minutes, seconded by Harold Minor. All approved, motion carried
4. Consider and take action to approve the minutes of meeting on 11/30/21.
Carnell Carrell made motion to approve minutes, seconded by Daryl Alford. All approved, motion carried
5. Consider and take action to approve the list of claims and bills.
Daryl Alford made motion to approve minutes, seconded by Carnell Carrell. All approved, motion carried
6. Consider and take action to cast ballot for Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce
(Bessie White arrived at 7:08 p.m.)
Harold Minor made motion to cast votes for Kathy Badobino, Maryilyn Bettes, Mereibeth Shimshack, Mac Vaughn, and Patty Whitney, seconded by Daryl Alford. All approved, motion carried.
7. Anderson Fest Report – still a little tight getting around courthouse before allotted time; suggested sign for traffic changes ahead beforehand; need some uber drivers for impaired individuals; large dumpsters were moved in, clean up was great; closed out on time; no vendor permits were obtained;
8. Around Town –
• TMLIRP was at office yesterday & went on a tour of Anderson, need to look at insurance to make sure we have the correct amount.
• Grass overgrown at Dollar General (Kason will talk to them)
• Limb issues – tree at stop sign Hill St @ Buffington
• Blood weeds need cleaning up on Johnson Rd
9. Permit report – 1 building permit for shed on Hill St
