2026 04 09 Meeting Minutes

BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this the 9th of April 2026, at 7:00 PM, there was begun and holden a Regular Meeting of the Town of Anderson, Grimes County, Texas.

• Call meeting to order and establish quorum at 7:00pm members present were Will Borski, Tanner Krause, Bessie White, Kason Menges, Brett Mize, Harold Minor and Town Attorney Ashley Ver Schuur.  Visitors present: Nancy Jane McMillan and Cara McAlister. 

• Invocation given by Will Borski

• Pledges to the flags

• Public Comment – none

• Mayor’s Update

1. 1. 1. Main St. document signed at recent commissioner court, waiting on state now before we take over Main St. 
      2. PMI emailed about zoning updates. Town Hall/workshop coming up April 23. Suggest 6pm. May 14 meeting will need to have a public hearing most likely to adopt the plan. On the 21st will be another public hearing. 

• Consent Agenda:  

All consent items are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion and vote.

4. Motion to approve Tanner Krause to approve the consent agenda items in full. Second by Harold Minor. All in favor, motion passes.

• Business:  Discuss, consider, and possibly take action regarding:

1. 1. 1. Discussion of final plans for Anderson Spring Clean Up on April 11th. 
         1. Discussion to work with commissioner court next clean up. 
      2. Discuss and take action to add Town Clerk, Bailey Sharp, to online banking for viewing of all bank accounts at First National Bank of Anderson. 
         1. Motion to approve Tanner Krause to approve. Second by Bret Mize. All in favor, motion passes.

• Executive Session at 7:21pm

1. 1. 1. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Sec. 551.072, Texas Government Code, to deliberate the sell, purchase, exchange, or value of certain real property located within the limits of the Town of Anderson.
      2. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Sec. 551.072, Texas Government Code, to deliberate personnel matter.

1. 1. 1. Reconvene into public session and take action as appropriate at the discretion of the Town Council regarding the sell, purchase, exchange, or value of certain real property located within the limits of the Town of Anderson.
         1. Motion by Tanner to authorize town attorney Ashley to proceed in hiring a new attorney for town acquisitions. Second by Harold. All in favor. Motion passes. 
      2. Reconvene into public session and take action as appropriate at the discretion of the Town Council regarding personnel matters.
