BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this the 16th day of April 2025, at 7:00 p.m., there was begun and holden a Special Meeting of the Town of Anderson, Grimes County, Texas.
1. Call the meeting to order and establish a quorum. At 7:00pm Will Borski, Bessie White, Tanner Krause, Ashley Ver Schuur, Mayor Marc Benton and Rebecca Ray present. At 7:17pm Kason Menges arrived.
2. Business:
Discuss, consider, and possibly take action regarding:
a. Discuss and possible action to confirm selection of a bidder for the Rental Hall kitchen remodel project.
- Two bids received one for roughly 20K and the other ranging between 10K and 12K. The higher bid was a contract while the other was more of an invoice.
- Options discussed between the two bids.
- Motion to select McCulloch homes and approve to negotiate price by will Borski, second by Tanner Krause, all in favor.
- Motion to approve authorization of payment of 25 percent of final fee once the contract is executed by Tanner Krause, second by Bessie White, all in favo
b. Consider and take action to approve Resolution #120-25 informing TxDOT of the town’s willingness to accept, with conditions, ownership of North Main Street (State Loop 429).
- TxDOT is speaking with their real estate department regarding resolution language.
- TxDOT was not able to get resolution language soon enough and will postpone to next regular scheduled meeting.
3. Executive Session at 7:16pm.
- Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Sec. 551.072, Texas Government Code, to deliberate the sell, purchase, exchange, or value of certain real property located within the limits of the Town of Anderson.
4. Possible Action from Executive Session at 7:42pm.
- Reconvene into public session and take action as appropriate at the discretion of the Town Council regarding the sell, purchase, exchange, or value of certain real property located within the limits of the Town of Anderson.
- Motion by Tanner Krause to make an offer of purchase price of $225,000 over a period of 5 years with annual payments and authorize Mayor Marc Benton and Town Attorney Ashley Ver Schuur to continue to negotiate after making initial offer, second by Kason Menges, all in favor.
5. Adjourn at 7:42 motion by Tanner Krause, second by Will Borski, all in favor.
