2025 09 15 Special Meeting Minutes

BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this the 15th day of September 2025, at 7:00 p.m., there was begun and holden a Special Meeting of the Town of Anderson, Grimes County, Texas.

1. Call meeting to order and establish quorum called to order at 7:01pm Mayor Marc Benton, Tanner Krause, Kason Menges, Bessie White, Cara McAlister and Town Attorney Ashley Ver Schuur present. Will Borski and Harold Minor were not present.
2. Business
   1. Discuss and possibly approve change order to 2023-2024 CDBG contract CDV23-0078 for Houston Street repairs.
      1. Due to cave ins during sewer repair on Houston St there will be a need for additional funds
      2. Extension to contract period to Dec 31, 2025
      3. Two options presented: gravel $3,935 pavement: $21,760
      4. Discussion about waiting to make decision on change order, or approve to pay out of FY26 budget
         1. Motion to approve change order to 2023-2024 CDBG contract CDV23-0078 in the amount of $21,760 and pay out of FY26 budget by Kason, second by Tanner. All in favor
3. Executive Session opened at 7:22pm
   1. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Sec. 551.072, Texas Government Code, to deliberate the sell, purchase, exchange, or value of certain real property located within the limits of the Town of Anderson.
4. Possible Action from Executive Session closed at 7:35pm
   1. Reconvene into public session and take action as appropriate at the discretion of the Town Council regarding the sell, purchase, exchange, or value of certain real property located within the limits of the Town of Anderson.
      1. Motion to allow Ashley to continue negotiations with the county in a good faith effort to work with the Grimes County Historical Commission to discuss the potential sale of the park and include an easement on a portion of Houston St by Tanner, second by Kason. All in favor.
5. Adjourn at 7:39pm
