2025 09 23 Special Meeting Minutes

BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this the 23rd day of September 2025, at 7:00 p.m., there was begun and holden a Special Meeting of the Town of Anderson, Grimes County, Texas.

1. Public Hearing 
   1. Public input is welcome regarding the adoption of the proposed budget and tax rate for tax year 2026. The proposed tax rate is $0.131698 per $100 of value. No comment regarding the budget for FY26 or tax rate.
2. Call meeting to order and establish quorum. At 7:10pm members present Mayor Marc Benton, Tanner Krause, Bessie White, William Borski, Harold Minor and Town Attorney Ashley Ver Schuur. Not Present Town Clerk Cara McAlister. No visitors present.
3. Business
   1. Discuss and possible action to approve the proposed FY26 Town Budget. Ordinance 177-25 Adopting Budget. Ordinance read aloud by Mayor. Open floor for discussion or questions. 
      1. Motion to approve by Tanner Krause. Second by Kason Menges. All in favor.
   2. Discuss and possible action to approve the FY26 Town of Anderson tax rate of 0.131698/$100. Tax Rate Adoption Ordinance 178-25. Ordinance read aloud by Mayor. Open floor for discussion or questions. This year’s proposed tax rate does not exceed the no-new-revenue tax rate. 
      1. Motion to approve by Tanner Krause. Second by Kason Menges. All in favor.
4. Adjourn at 7:17pm 

At 7:17pm Mayor Marc Benton tendered his resignation effectively immediately and officially adjourned meeting at 7:18pm.
